Peeka Privacy Policy

Peeka is a Quick Look previewer for app packages and Markdown files. It runs on your Mac, and it is built to work without knowing anything about you. This policy explains exactly what Peeka does and does not do with your data.

The short version

• No account, no sign-in, no profile.
• Your files are read and rendered locally. They are never uploaded by Peeka.
• No ads, no third-party analytics, no trackers inside the app.
• No personal data is sold or shared.

How Peeka processes your files

When you preview a file, macOS hands it to Peeka's Quick Look extension. Peeka opens the package or document on your Mac and renders a preview on the spot. Files are not copied to our servers, and Peeka does not need a network connection to preview anything you already have locally.

Permissions

Peeka only sees the files you choose to preview through Quick Look. It does not scan your disk, index your folders, or read documents you have not selected for preview.

Diagnostics and crash data

If you choose to share crash reports with developers through macOS or the App Store, Apple may provide them to us. These reports can include technical details such as device model, macOS version, and stack traces. We use them only to fix bugs. You can opt out in your Mac's System Settings.

Support requests

If you email us about Peeka, we receive whatever you include in your message — and we keep it only as long as needed to help. Please don't send files containing credentials or private project data.

Changes

If Peeka's data practices change in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the "Last updated" date will change.
